Samgyal Dawa Masiff

Samgyal Dawa Masiff

Info

Explore the uncharted beauty of the Eastern Karakoram with our exclusive Samgyal (5,814m) and Dawa (5,900m) peaks expedition. Starting with acclimatization in Leh and a drive across the iconic Khardung La Pass, the journey takes you deep into the remote Nubra Valley and onwards to the stunning Palzampiu Valley—a hidden gem rarely visited by trekkers.

The trek begins from Hunder, winding through wild gorges, river valleys, and high-altitude shepherd trails. As you reach the pristine base camp at 4,450m, you’re surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks and dramatic rock faces. After a rest and preparation day, ascend to high camp at 5,150m, set beside the impressive Samgyal Peak glacier.

Summiting Samgyal Peak involves glacier travel and gentle climbing, offering commanding views of untouched Himalayan wilderness. An optional second summit, Dawa Peak, provides a greater challenge and rewards climbers with even more dramatic vistas.

This expedition is ideal for experienced trekkers looking to venture into unexplored territory with a blend of trekking and non-technical peak climbing. Operated on a fully customized basis only, this is a unique opportunity to climb in Ladakh’s lesser-known ranges with expert guides and full support. Adventure, solitude, and stunning landscapes await.
