Day 1 Arrival in Leh (3,500m)
You will arrive in Leh and transfer to your hotel for rest and acclimatization, followed by an evening briefing.
Day 2 Acclimatization day in Leh
Spend the day adjusting to the altitude with light sightseeing and final expedition preparations.
Day 3 Drive from Leh to Kargil (2,676m)
Enjoy a scenic 7-8 hour drive via mountain passes to reach Kargil for an overnight stay.
Day 4 Drive from Kargil to Tangol (3,200m)
Drive to Tangol village, the gateway to the Nun Base Camp.
Day 5 Trek from Tangol to Base Camp (4,100m)
Begin your trek through alpine meadows and river valleys to establish Base Camp.
Day 6–7 Rest and acclimatization at Base Camp
Use these days for acclimatization hikes and organizing climbing gear.
Day 8 Move to Advanced Base Camp (5,000m)
Trek over moraines and glaciers to establish Advanced Base Camp near the glacier.
Day 9–11 Load ferry and establish Camp 1 (5,900m)
Carry loads to Camp 1, fixing ropes as needed on technical terrain.
Day 12–14 Establish Camp 2 (6,400m) and prepare for summit push
Continue climbing higher, acclimatizing and setting up Camp 2 with rest days.
Day 15 Summit attempt of Nun Peak (7,135m)
Begin an early morning alpine start, climbing steep snow and ice to reach the summit and enjoy spectacular views.
Day 16–17 Descend to Base Camp
Safely descend back to Base Camp for rest and celebration.
Day 18 Trek back to Tangol and drive to Kargil
Retrace your steps to Panikhar and then drive to Kargil for overnight stay.
Day 19 Buffer Day
Contingency day, Incase of bad weather
Day 20 Drive from Kargil to Leh
Return to Leh and enjoy a free evening for rest or exploration.
Day 21 Departure from Leh
Transfer to the airport for your onward journey
Essential Technical & Trekking Gear
- Technical Gear ( Will be Provided by Guide The Himalaya : Mountaineering boots (Scarpa plastic boots, it can Stiff and heavy) , Crampons (10-12 points), Ice Axe (walking type), Climbing Harness, Helmets, carabiners, Rope, Jumar, Descender, Slings.
- Rest of the gear you need to bring with You. Some you can also rent here in Leh.
- Backpack & Trekking: 60-70L rucksack with rain cover + 20-30L summit daypack.
- Trekking Poles: Strongly recommended for stability. (You can also rent here.)
- Sleeping Gear: -Sleeping Bag and Sleeping mat. We will providing. Unless you want to bring your own.
Clothing (Layering System)
- Base Layers: 1 or 2 sets of thermal tops and bottoms.
- Mid-Layers: Fleece jacket/pullover, fleece pants.
- Outer Layer: (Heavy down jacket ( you can also rent here, unless you want bring your own) windproof/waterproof hard shell jacket and pants.
- Trek Pants: Heavy Pants for Summit , 2 pairs of quick-dry trekking pants.
Please Note: In the Himalayan range above 6,500m, temperatures can drop significantly. We highly recommend bringing your own personal gear, as you will be more familiar with its fit, weight and condition. Please discuss your clothing and equipment list with us so we can ensure it is suitable for the terrain. If you are missing any items, we are happy to provide them for you.
Head & Hand Protection
- Gloves: fleece liner gloves and winds topper or waterproof gloves.
- Headwear: Warm beanie/woollen cap, buff or balaclava to cover the face and neck.
- Sun Protection: Sun hat with wide brim, 2 Pairs of high-quality Category 4 UV-protection sunglasses (mandatory to prevent snow blindness).
Footwear
- Boots: Comfortable trekking boots.
- Socks: 4-5 pairs of good trekking socks.
- Gaiters: Essential for snow, specifically on summit night. (We will be providing)
Personal Items & Miscellaneous
- Hydration: 2 – 3 x 1Litre Nalgene bottles and 1 litre Flask need for each person.
- Lighting: 2 Pairs of Headtorch with extra batteries (essential for starting early morning on summit day).
- Skin Protection: SPF 50+ sunscreen, lip balm, and moisturizer (high-altitude sun is harsh).
- Toiletries: Wet wipes, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, personal medications.
- We will be carrying Small First Add Kit.
