Day 1 Arrival in Leh
Upon arrival at Leh Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel, a short drive of about 15 km. Take the day to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude of 3,500 meters. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the bustling Leh Market, soaking in the local ambiance, handicrafts, and flavors of Ladakhi cuisine.
Day 2 Leh Local Sightseeing
Today, explore the cultural heart of Leh with a total drive of around 40–50 km. Visit the royal Shey Palace and its grand Buddha statue, followed by the beautifully structured Thiksey Monastery. Continue to Stok Palace to witness the royal heritage, and conclude at Hemis Monastery, renowned for its rich Buddhist art and annual festival. This day offers a deep dive into Ladakhi traditions and spirituality.
Day 3 Leh to Alchi and Likir
Drive 70 km to Alchi Monastery, one of the oldest in Ladakh, famous for its exquisite 11th-century murals. Proceed to Likir Monastery and explore the surrounding villages, interacting with locals and experiencing traditional Ladakhi life. Elevation ranges from 3,000–3,500 meters, allowing a gentle exploration of culture and history.
Day 4 Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
Embark on a 120 km drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes at 5,359 meters. Visit Diskit Monastery, enjoy the scenic Hunder sand dunes, ride a double-humped Bactrian camel, and interact with the friendly villagers to learn about their customs.
Day 5 Nubra Valley Exploration
Spend the day exploring Nubra Valley with a 50 km drive. Visit Turtuk Village to experience Balti culture, wander through local markets, and taste traditional cuisine. The elevation varies between 3,048–3,500 meters, providing an immersive cultural experience in the high-altitude desert.
Day 6 Nubra to Pangong Lake
Drive 160 km via the scenic Shyok route to Pangong Lake at an elevation of 4,350 meters. Stop along the way for photography, capturing stunning landscapes and the pristine high-altitude desert. Enjoy the serene beauty of the lake and interact with local nomads.
Day 7 Pangong Lake to Leh
Wake up to the sunrise at Pangong Lake before beginning the 225 km return drive to Leh, passing through Chang La Pass at 5,360 meters. Enjoy multiple scenic stops and photograph the breathtaking views en route.
Day 8 Leh to Lamayuru and Alchi
Take a 140 km round trip to Lamayuru Monastery, famous for its dramatic Moonland landscapes, and explore the ancient cultural heritage of Alchi Monastery. This day combines both spiritual insight and natural wonder.
Day 9 Magnetic Hill & Local Leh Excursion
Drive 80 km to explore the intriguing Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and Shanti Stupa. Spend the evening visiting Leh Market for souvenirs and experiencing the local lifestyle, completing your cultural immersion.
Day 10 Departure from Leh
After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable memories of Ladakh’s rich culture, majestic monasteries and breathtaking landscapes.
