Day 1 Arrival and Rest in Leh
Upon your arrival in Leh, you will be met outside the airport and escorted to your hotel for a full day of mandatory rest. In the evening, you will enjoy a gentle stroll around the local market for acclimatization and an orientation walk.
Day 2: Sightseeing and Preparation
After breakfast, you will visit Thiksay and Shey Palace before returning to the hotel for lunch and an afternoon equipment check. In the evening, you will walk to Shanti Stupa for panoramic views followed by a detailed expedition briefing from your team leader.
Day 3: Drive to Rumtse (4,300m)
You will begin the journey with a scenic drive to Rumtse, pausing to visit the majestic Thiksay Monastery along the way.
Day 4: Drive to Nuruchan via Taglang La (4,694m)
The day involves a spectacular drive over the Taglang La pass at 5,328m, continuing along the beautiful shores of Tsokar Lake and across the Chang Tang plains to your camp at Nuruchan.
Day 5: Trek to Rachungkaru (4,952m)
Leaving camp, you will cross a stream and hike up the Nuruchan La (4,750m) before descending into a region where you will encounter Tibetan nomadic herdsmen and camp among their yaks and pashmina goats.
Day 6: Trek to Gyabarma (5,171m)
This is a long and challenging day where you will cross two high passes—the Kyamaru La (5,400m) and the Gyabarma La (5,300m)—to reach a wild, remote campsite in the high pastures.
Day 7: Trek to Karzok Dok (4,632m)
You will climb the Yalung Naula Pass (5,400m) to enjoy sensational views of the 20-kilometer-long Tso Morari Lake before descending a zigzag path to Karzok Dok.
Day 8: Trek to Mentok Kangri Basecamp (5,300m)
The team will hike through an open valley and over rounded ridges consisting of moorland and bouldery moraine to establish basecamp beside a mountain stream.
Day 9: Rest and Technical Training
This day is dedicated to resting at basecamp and conducting technical training to ensure everyone is fully prepared for the final ascent.
Day 10: Summit Day: Mentok Kangri I (6,250m)
Starting early, you will rope up to cross the glacier and ascend snow ridges to reach the summit, where you can admire views of Lungser Kangri and distant Tibet before descending back to basecamp.
Day 11: Trek to Karzok (4,500m)
You will enjoy a relatively easy descent to the village of Karzok, one of the highest settlements on Earth, where you can spend the afternoon exploring the lakeshore and the ancient monastery.
Day 12: Return Drive to Leh
The team will drive 240km back to Leh, traveling along the Indus River and across the Chang Tang plains, ending the day with a celebration dinner with the staff.
Day 13: Contingency Day in Leh
This day serves as a buffer in case of bad weather in the mountains; otherwise, it is a free day to relax and explore Leh at your leisure.
Day 14: Departure from Leh
Your expedition concludes with a transfer to the airport for your return flight to Delhi.
