Day 1 Arrival in Leh (3,500m)
Arrive in Leh and transfer to your hotel. The day is reserved for acclimatization—relax, hydrate, and adjust to the altitude. In the afternoon, take a gentle walk through Leh Town to explore the local market and heritage sites.
Day 2 Monastery Tour & Acclimatization Walk
Begin your day with a visit to Thiksay and Shey Monasteries, returning to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a gradual acclimatization walk to Shanti Stupa, offering panoramic views of Leh and surrounding mountains.
Day 3 Drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
On a scenic drive over the world-famous Khardung La Pass (5,370m) into the Nubra Valley. Visit the historic Diskit Monastery and the sand dunes of Hunder. Overnight stay in a guesthouse at Hunder (3,050m).
Day 4 Trek Begins – Hunder to Wachen (3,865m)
Start your trek following the Hunder Dok River upstream along a newly built road through a dramatic gorge. Reach the serene campsite at Wachen surrounded by rugged peaks.
Day 5 Trek to Palzampiu Valley Base Camp (4,450m)
Follow the trail past Dok Yogma into the heart of Palzampiu Valley. Traverse lush high-altitude pastures and shepherd trails to reach your beautiful streamside base camp beneath towering peaks.
Day 6 Rest & Acclimatization Day at Base Camp
A day to rest and acclimatize. Check personal climbing gear, prepare food, and mentally get ready for the high-altitude ascent in the coming days.
Day 7 Trek to High Camp (5,150m)
Trek further into the Palzampiu Valley. Climb above the base camp through scenic terrain to reach your high camp near the Samgyal Peak glacier. Enjoy sweeping views of surrounding snow-capped summits and Eastern Karakoram.
Day 8 Summit Samgyal Peak (5,814m)
Begin your summit push before dawn. Ascend through moraine and glacier terrain with crampons. The climb is gradual yet rewarding, leading to stunning views from the summit. Return to high camp by early afternoon for rest.
Day 9 Optional Ascent of Dawa Peak (5,900m)
An extra day for those seeking a second summit. Climb Dawa Peak via scree and glacier, with moderate technical challenges and unforgettable panoramic views. Return to high camp.
Day 10 Contingency Day
A buffer day for weather delays or rest. Can also be used to accommodate delayed summit attempts.
Day 11 Trek Back to Wachen & Drive to Leh
Retrace your steps down to Wachen and return to Leh by evening. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Delhi, carrying unforgettable memories of the Ladakh expedition.
Essential Technical & Trekking Gear
- Technical Gear ( Will be Provided by Guide The Himalaya : Mountaineering boots (Scarpa plastic boots, it can Stiff and heavy) , Crampons (10-12 points), Ice Axe (walking type), Climbing Harness, Helmets, carabiners, Rope.
- Rest of the gear you need to bring with You. Some you can also rent here in Leh.
- Backpack & Trekking: 60-70L rucksack with rain cover or Duffle bag + 20-30L summit daypack.
- Trekking Poles: Strongly recommended for stability. (You can also rent here.)
- Sleeping Gear: -Sleeping Bag and Sleeping mat. We will providing. Unless you want to bring your own.
Clothing (Layering System)
- Base Layers: 1 or 2 sets of thermal tops and bottoms.
- Mid-Layers: Fleece jacket/pullover, fleece pants.
- Outer Layer: (Heavy down jacket ( you can also rent here, unless you want bring your own) windproof/waterproof hard shell jacket and pants.
- Trek Pants: 2 pairs of quick-dry trekking pants.
Head & Hand Protection
- Gloves: fleece liner gloves, and winds topper or waterproof gloves.
- Headwear: Warm beanie/woollen cap, buff or balaclava to cover the face and neck.
- Sun Protection: Sun hat with wide brim, high-quality Category 3 or 4 UV-protection sunglasses (mandatory to prevent snow blindness).
Footwear
- Boots: Comfortable trekking boots.
- Socks: 4-5 pairs of good trekking socks.
- Gaiters: Essential for snow, specifically on summit night. (We will be providing)
Personal Items & Miscellaneous
- Hydration: 2 – 3 x 1Litre Nalgene bottles need for each person.
- Lighting: Headtorch with extra batteries (essential for starting early morning on summit day).
- Skin Protection: SPF 50+ sunscreen, lip balm, and moisturizer (high-altitude sun is harsh).
- Toiletries: Wet wipes, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, personal medications.
- We will be carrying Small First Add Kit.
