Introduction:
Everest Three High Passes Traverse, an adventure beyond imagination where you will be in the midst of world’s highest peaks in the harmony of native Sherpa colorful culture, interwoven with Buddhist religion. Everest Three High Passes Traverse crossing one of the Himalayan highest ridges over Kongma-la at 5,535 m, Cho-la 5,420 m and Renjo-la 5,340 m high with ever present of Mt. Everest and surrounding mountains. An exciting and thrilling walks on high Khumbu valley where you get most of all beautiful areas of Everest walking from one wonderful place to another with visit of Everest Base Camp and high and scenic Kalapathar with breathtaking panorama of peaks with Everest at mere distance. Beginning our adventure with flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and then heading through lovely villages of Phakding-Monjo within green woodland and views of snow-clad peaks to reach at high and famous Namche Bazaar, with time here for excursion and soaking in with local culture. Walk continues towards scenic Thyangboche and its impressive monastery with awesome views of surrounding high peaks with Mt. Everest, where walk leads away from tree lines to sheer wilderness towards beautiful Imjatse valley to cross the first pass over Kongma-la to reach at Everest Base Camp. Enjoying terrific views of Khumbu Ice falls and glaciers with climb on top highest point of the adventure above 5,545 m at Kalapathar, and then heading towards our second high pass to cross over Cho-la, also spelled as Tsho-la to reach at magnificent Gokyo valley and its simmering lakes. At Gokyo enjoy climb on top Gokyo-Ri overlooking panorama of world’s four highest peaks Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu and Makalu after getting physically fit and acclimatizing well being on high elevation, then ready for the last final crossing over Renjo-la to reach at western side of Khumbu at Thame village. Around Thame with time to visit one of the oldest monastery of Khumbu and then walking back into tree lines as our route leads to Namche Bazaar and back at Lukla after completing an adventurous journey with marvelous time on Everest Three High Passes Traverse.




Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
On reaching Kathmandu International Airport received by our guide and staff and then transfer to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city. First check into your hotel rooms after getting refreshed from the flight, then join with other members of Everest Three High Passes Traverse and trekking, for group briefing, where our expert guides will inform regarding hotels, trekking, local lodge and overland drives with do’s and don’ts information, includes welcome group dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurants followed with Folk cultural programs as entertain during dinner.
Day 02 Fly to Lukla 2,820m (35 min) and trek to Phakding 2,610 m – 03 hrs.
Morning depart from the hotel to Kathmandu domestic airport for exciting and scenic flight of 35 minutes to land at Lukla, a Sherpa town where all treks and adventure starts and ends around Everest and high Khumbu region. From Lukla a gradual walks to begin with short downs and ups and then on winding trail past nice farm villages of Sherpa enriched with Buddhism religion and culture as you encounter rowsof Mani (prayer)monuments and large spinning bells. Slowly our pleasant first day walks completes reaching at Phakding a moderate size village with many good lodges for overnight stay nearby glacial Dudh Kosi River.
Day 03 Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 06 hrs.
Today walk leads to famous Namche Bazaar where altitude gains as walk progress, morning walk starts following the river and crossing several times to reach at Monjo village near Sagarmatha National Park entrance, from here walking on river valley and gorge covered within nice woodland of tall rhododendron-pines and fir trees. After crossing a high last bridge with few hours climb to Namche Bazaar with stunning views of Everest-Lhotse and Kongde peaks. Namche Bazaar at 4,440 m high an ideal place for rest day to acclimatize, the main town / village of Khumbu where colorful and exciting Saturday market takes place once a week.
Day 04 Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
Rest day for acclimatization before heading higher terrain, morning after breakfast with options for hike to Everest View Hotel or walk on top of Namche, where you can catch super landscapes scenery with Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam with series of high peaks, here enjoy visiting National Park Museum provides you with much information of Khumbu region, Sherpa history-culture-flora and fauna including detail on mountaineering.
Day 05 Trek to Thyangboche Monastery 3,867 m – 05 hrs.
Enjoying pleasant time at Namche, morning walk leads to scenic and gradual walks overlooking Everest and other giant peaks, as our route leads downhill to Imjatse river at Phunki Tenga, a small place with few lodges an ideal spot for refreshing break or lunch stop.
Afternoon walk leads uphill into enchanting alpine forest to reach a beautiful surrounding at Thyangboche Monastery offering grand panorama of mountains with Everest and Amadablam at close distance, here with time for tour into monastery and witness monks and priest on prayer. Thyangboche also holds a ‘Mani-Rimdu’ a colorful religious festival where monks with mask dancing wading evil spirits which falls in the month of October as per Buddhist lunar calendar.
Day 06 Trek to Dingboche 4,410 m past Pangboche 3,900 m – 05 hrs.
Morning catching super views of high peaks with Everest, our route descends into forested areas reaching a metal bridge, from here a slow climb encountering mani (prayer) walls along the walks to Pangboche village, this is a last Sherpa permanent village on route to Everest base camp. From here walk leads on barren and arid country where tree lines drops for small bushes of juniper and dwarf rhododendron (azalea). Walk leads uphill into a river gorge and then finally opens up into a wide glacial valley on reaching Dingboche with many good lodges around facing views of Imjatse or Island peaks towards east.
Day 07 Trek to Chhukung 4,700 m – 03 hrs.
From Dingboche and easy walk to Chukung located above 4,760 m high, a small settlement within Imjatse valley offers incredible views of Island Peak, Lhotse Shar, Lhotse, Nuptse and Amadablam. Chukung situated at the end of Imjatse valley on route Island Peak.
Day 08 Another rest day for short hike and acclimatization climb Chhukung Ri 5,540 m.
Another good rest day for acclimatization as elevation gets higher, Chhukung a fine place for leisure hike on top Chhukung Ri at 5,540 m high rewards you with tremendous views of surrounding peaks with Mt. Makalu towards east horizon. Enjoying scenic hike and excursion with afternoon free to catch up with your dairy and relax marveling the views of Island Peak and Amadablam North Face with other giant mountains.
Day 09 Trek and traverse Kongma-la 5,335 to reach Lobuche 4,910 m – 08 hrs.
Starting early morning to cross over the first high Kongma-La pass walks leads past Chhukung to reach at Bibre in between Dingboche and Chhukung. From here heading into a gully close to Nuptse peak our route leads to seldom ventured areas by trekkers on the off beaten trail’ walking over rocks and moraine with climb on top Kongma-la with its close peak with the same name also known as Mehra near Pokalde peaks.
After a good rest on top 5,535 m / 18,159 ft high, where walk leads downhill to Khumbu glacier and over moraine with last final climb to Lobuche for overnight stop in the comfort of several nice lodges with views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.
Day 10 Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and back to Gorakshep 5,180 m – 06 hrs.
Today a great walk towards our main highlight and final destinations to reach Everest Base Camp, as morning walk leads on open wide valley with slow climb to reach above Khumbu glaciers, walking past moraine dunes reaching at Gorakshep, a place with few lodges on the junction of Everest base camp and Kalapatthar route. Gorakshep was a base camp of Everest expeditions in early 1950’s to late 1970’s before the route was made further away to present base camp. From Gorakshep few hours walk over moraine and glacier to reach our ultimate destination at base camp with sweeping views of giant peaks of Nuptse-Lo la, Nuptse with notorious huge Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers. In high mountaineering season this place will be active with climbers and crews with many camps set on top of moraine and glaciers. After a grand time then head back to Gorakshep for highest overnight stop of the adventure with fantastic memories of the day walks to Everest base camp.
Day 11 Morning hike to Kalapatthar 5,545 m and descend to Dzongla 4, 830 m – 06 hrs.
Morning climb to Kalapatthar above 5,545 m, the highest point of the adventure offers incredible panorama of mountains with Everest at stone throw distance. With amazing time on top head back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue trek downhill past Lobuche and near Thugla, where our route divers from the main trail of Pheriche to reach an isolated corner at Dzongla beneath Cho-la pass with views of Cholatse and Taboche peaks, Dzongla a small place with few good lodges for overnight stops.
Day 12 Trek and Cross Cho-la pass 5,420 m to Thagnak 4,700 m – 08 hrs.
Another exciting day to cross over the second high pass, with early morning climb towards Cho-la pass or Tshola, following a steep path and then crossing a glacier to reach the top of the pass at 5,367 m high, climb can be quite tough and challenging in snow conditions, Chola-la pass provides views of Cholatse Glacier, after a nice morning with tough climb and rest, then descend to Thagnak for overnight stop this place also called as Dragnak.
Day 13 Trek to Gokyo Lakes 4,790 m – 04 hrs.
A short morning walk to Gokyo Lake walk leads close to Ngozumba glacier and then reaching at first lake, walking further towards second lake and then at third lake known as Gokyo Lake (also called Dudh Pokhari) considered as holy pond by both Hindu and Buddhist, Gokyo an early summer grazing place for Yaks and wild animals with grand views of Mt. Cho Oyo and Gyachung Kang, afternoon free to relax or take a short walks around the lake.
Day 14 At Gokyo lake with optional hike to Gokyo-Ri 5,483 m a climb of few hours.
Free day at scenic Gokyo valley and its beautiful glacial lakes, where morning climb of few hours leads you to the highest point of the adventure on top Gokyo Ri at 5,357 m high, offering tremendous panorama from Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Everest, Lhotse and of Mt. Makalu covering four world highest mountains at one glance with series of smaller peaks.
Enjoying views of grand peaks with massive Ngozumba Glacier and then down to Gokyo for lunch with rest of the afternoon at leisure.
Day 15 Traverse over Renjo-La 5,340 m and descend to Lungden 4,300 m – 06 hrs.
Starting early morning heading towards our last and final high pass of the adventure to cross over Renjo-la, walk follows at the end of Gokyo Lake, with views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche peaks, and then strenuous climb to reach on top Renjo La pass at above 5,465 m / 17,929 ft high, at the top with fabolous panorama of Mt. Cho-Oyu and other high peaks. After a refreshing rest then descend to reach a frozen pond below Renjo La pass, and with more downhill to Lungden for overnight stop, situated on route Nangpa-la pass which leads to Tibet border.
Day 16 Trek to Thame village 3,800 m via Marlung – 05 hrs.
After a great climb and traverse of all three major high passes of high Khumbu in the shade of Everest, morning walk on downhill to Marlung village and then to Thame village for overnight stop. Thame a remote village located west at the end of Khumbu areas of Everest region, here few trekkers seldom visit Thame, only on taking route of Renjo-la or crossing Tashi-Labtsa which is a high pass that separates Rolwaling valley and Khumbu area, while inThame visit Thame monastery, one of the most important and oldest Gompa of more than 500 years old.
Day 17 Trek to Namche Bazaar -06 hrs.
From Thame onwards walk leads on pleasant trail back into vegetation and tree lines with few ups and down heading through nice Thamo village for short stops, after a refreshing interval with super views of Kongde and adjoining peaks, a nice walk leads you at Namche for overnight stop.
Day 18 Trek to Lukla – 06 hrs with afternoon at leisure.
Our last day walk of the adventure where trek follows on the same trail back to Lukla past Monjo, Phakding and Ghat villages crossing few times over Dudh Kosi, with last final climb to reach Lukla town for last overnight stop around high scenic Khumbu and Everest region.
Day 19 Fly to Kathmandu and then transfer to your hotels.
Morning transfer to Lukla Tenzing and Hillary airport for sweeping short flight to Kathmandu facing scenic views of mountains, green scenery of hills and farm fields with nice villages and towns as flight lands at Kathmandu airport and then back to your hotel, with free afternoon to relax of great memorable adventure on Everest Three High Passes Traverse.
Day 20 Depart for international flight home ward bound or to respective countries.
Last day in Nepal after a great and wonderful adventure on Everest Three High Passes Traverse and trekking with great service of Lasso Adventure, and as per your international flight then transfer to Kathmandu international airport for homeward bound or to your respective destinations.
